Pattachitra, traditional paintings from Odisha, is a combination of two Sanskrit words "Patta" means cloth and "Chitra" means picture. Pattachitra paintings were originally substitutes for worship on days when the main temple doors in Puri were shut for the 'ritual bath' of the deity. The ritual continues even today. This Pattachitra painting depicts Krishna Radha standing beneath a tree with their eyes locked in love. The 'Chitra' is colorful and memerising against a contrast black 'Patta'. The painting has been made by a skilled artist from Odisha.
